 · Frank Zappa’s Vox and Marshall amplifiers. He used a lot of gear, but one thing stayed true from the mids onward: Frank loved his Vox Super Beatle system tied-in with two Marshall half-stacks. One head was a Marshall Major, the other was a watt JMP. Frank used the Vox Super Beatle in his earlier years, the Marshalls began their duty.

 · According to Gary Lucas in a interview for Seconds magazine, Frank Zappa and Don Van Vliet’s last meeting was embarassing and owned the rights to Bat Chain Puller, tracks from which Don wanted to use on Ice Cream for some fruitless negotiation Don and Gary decided to confront Zappa face-to-face and ask for the use of the material.

An original script for Frank Zappa’s notorious unproduced film, “Captain Beefheart vs. The Grunt People!”. Zappa originally conceived of this film in ; it’s title gave his longtime friend Don Vliet his pseudonym, Captain Beefheart. In Zappa created this fully developed screenplay and attempted to get financing for the film.
